Baked beans with Zlatiborac srem sausage

  • 600 g of common white beans
  • 700 g of onions
  • 400 g of Zlatiorac srem sausage
  • 1½ dl of tomato juice
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
  • 3 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 0.05 l of oil

Preparation: 1. Cook the beans in plenty of water and add bay leaves. When the beans are cooked, drain the excess water, but leave enough in order for beans to remain submerged (water in the pot should be just above the level of beans).
2. Fry onions cut into slices in oil. When onion gets tender combine it with beans. Add salt, pepper, paprika, finely chopped garlic and tomato juice. Stir everything well and taste the dish.
3. Pour prepared mixture into a baking dish. Place Zlatiborac srem sausage on top and bake everything at 190°C for an hour, or until a nice crust forms up on top of the beans.
