Beef stew with Zlatiborac thin bacon


4 portions:

  • 800 g of beef ham
  • 1 kg of onions
  • 60 g of Zlatiborac thin bacon
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 dl of tomato juice
  • ¼ teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 bunch of parsley leaf
  • ½ teaspoon of spicy paprika
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ dl of oil

Beef stew with Zlatiborac thin bacon


Preparation: 1. Cut Zlatiborac thin bacon into small pieces with a knife. Combine bacon, garlic, cumin and parsley in a blender and blend everything into a compact mixture.
2. Cut onions into strips and fry them in some oil. Season with salt and then add meat that was previously cut into small pieces. Cover the pot and cook over medium-sized heat for about 90 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add some water if the liquid from meat and onions evaporates. Cook the meat until tender.
3. Next, add bay leaves, pepper, paprika, tomato juice, sugar and prepared bacon mixture. Leave the stew to simmer for about 10 minutes, until all flavors unite. Salt, if necessary.
