Vegetable soup with Zlatiborac thin bacon


3-4 portions:

  • 1 red pepper
  • 100 g of red cabbage
  • 1 large potato
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 100 g of celeriac
  • 200 g of canned red beans
  • 200 g of peeled tomatoes (pelati)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 100 g of leeks
  • 100 g of Zlatiborac thin bacon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Some parmesan cheese
  • 1.5 l of water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Vegetable soup with Zlatiborac thin bacon


Preparation: 1. Cut vegetables into cubes or slices. Fry Zlatiborac thin bacon in some oil and add prepared vegetables. Season with salt and simmer for 5-10 minutes on medium-high heat. Then add water, beans and peeled tomatoes. After the water boils, cook the soup for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
2. Serve the soup while hot, and optionally, season with parmesan cheese and previously toasted bacon slices.
